Discount Shopping

If you have Fly Buys card or other rewards card, use it. We also have a Member card from our Union which offers discounts all over the place. We don't exactly go out of our way to spend money at the places where discounts are offered, but if we have A & B shop or restaurant to choose from then obviously we'll choose A if they offer us a 10% discount or a free meal. I would love to know what we save every year by using rewards cards such as this. I have noticed that FlyBuys now offer a $25 Coles Myer Gift card as a cheap reward. Why not use this? You get $25 off your grocery shopping this week basically for nothing.

Have a look at your shop-a-dockets. Don't be embarrased to use them as these companies want your business and it benefits you with discounts. Remeber what we have said before. If you're too embarrased to use these discount vouchers, look at it this way. If someone came up and offered you $20,would you be too embarrased to say "Yes"? I doubt it!! Imagine what you could do with that $20 today and every other day you do it. It all adds up!

Be careful with rewards cards or using FlyBuys though. Do the maths. Are you spending $10 to save $5?

Use the sales at major stores, especially for things like nappies. Buy in bulk if you can and save heaps. Kids clothes are another good one. When they have an end of season run out, consider buying next years clothes for the kids. It shouldn't be too hard to work out roughly what size they'll be.

Do you shop at Aldi? Our MS Money program we mentioned above ( Click Here to search iBuy ), told us we save around $600 per year by shopping at ALDI. This is a huge saving. But again, can you justify driving an extra 30 minutes just to shop at Aldi. Put a price on your time & sanity. Plus, most people, ourselves included, always say that you can't always buy everything you want at ALDI.
